My son and I towed our old boat in several years ago when the started fell of the engine. We were about 200 yards from the boat docks and just found it easier to jump in a swim the boat back to the dock rather than using the paddle.

2 or 3 years ago Memorial Day weekend were cruising around and I see a lady in a 21ft blue boat waving at us. I"m thinking " I don't know anyone with a boat like that, why she waving at me".
Well I finally noticed the raised sunpad as we got closer and realized they were broke down.
We pull up and lady is frantic, their boat is taking on water! Husband was looking for the leak but water was already pretty deep in the ski locker, deep enough that he shut the engine off to avoid damage. Lady jumped in our boat ( she wanted off at all costs!) We started towing them, I didn't think we make it, but once we got moving water leveled off and we made the couple miles to the landing!
There was one heck of a lot of water coming out after he pulled out and pulled the plug.

Towing a boat makes you go slow Shocked And on a hot day that makes it that much hotter Rolling Eyes However, the smile you see when you get them back to the launch makes the ride worth it I suppose Wink

I had a gimble go out on my old boat once way back in the early 90's. It was late April or early May and it was a Friday afternoon - the lake was near empty and I was 4 - 6 miles from the launch. I paddled for nearly an hour before a boat came by and pulled me on in Exclamation That is when I learned to slow down and check on anyone on the water with the sunpad up. Arrow

I have fortunately (I guess) towed in way more boats than have towed me in. Luckily, I've only had to be towed myself once and while I was trying to flag someone down I was feeling very helpless. So, now I too stop if I see someone that appears to be stuck. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Plus, a little good karma never hurt anyone.

Yep, saw my boat adrift with wife, my two kids and about 4 others. Luckily within view of my pier, the water pump/impeller was down for the count and it had gotten hot, she shut it down.

You know what? Towing a boat full of people with a 110HP 1997 Sea Doo is an exercise in patience, even when only that far a pull....... Shocked

Knock on wood (can't do that in a Bryant! Very Happy ), I've never been towed. I have towed quite a few boaters in over the years but not since I've had the Bryant. My Ski Nautique would pull darn near anything!

Not really true. You now have a cool wooden Bryant key fob Cool so knock away. Very Happy
The Nautique was powered by Ford so what else would you expect? Mr. Green

Towed my first boat (not a Bryant) yesterday while we were at the BBO Chicago gathering.
Poor guy was stuck in the river system up against the river wall. I was the last one in our group of five that went past him. Everyone else thought he was just waving, but I saw that he was having trouble, so I cranked it down and pulled over to him.
Ended up towing him further than I wanted to, but you just can't leave a poor guy stranded on the water. Took some time out of our trip, but I was glad we were able to help him out.
Thanks to all Chad for coming back to assist and all the others who waited on us.

Before we bought our Bryant we had a 1985 IMP and we had to be towed in several times. It was always embarrassing. Now, I look for the opportunity to tow people in -- I'm simply repaying all the favors other boater have done for us over the years.

It is amazing how helpful other boaters are and that makes it fun to be part of the boating world.

Towed a pontoon with my old Bayliner, and was towed in my Bryant by the dealer after running out of gas:)Smile

Last weekend helped my cousin and her family , they asked if I'd tow them, I said sure, asked if they needed a jump, pulled out my Black and Decker jump pack, passed it to them and got them started... Followed them home... Best $50 ever spent....
Just have to remember to charge it up:)Smile
ENJOY!!!!

I have never towed or been towed but I am curious......if you are to tow someone, what is the setup? It seems like the safest way would be with the boats tied up side by side. Does that even make sense?? I know you would lose maneuverability but it still seems the safer way especially on a busy lake.

I don't know the correct way, but I ran a rope thru both of the rear trailer tie down supports under the swim platform and then tied the other end of the rope to their bow bracket where you winch the boat on the trailer. I just made sure there were was enough rope so that they did not hit me if I slowed down, etc.
I only towed them at very low speed barely above idle speed.

I don't think that I would tow side by side.

Welp, change my vote, I towed a Wellcraft today, He was broke down in the middle of the lake and I towed him a couple miles at least. My fiance took a pic with my cell but I haven't looked to see if it's good enough to post.
The guy was really nice and wanted to pay me for gas but I said nope, just pay it forward..
My little 4.3 was just a chuggin' but all gauges looked good and we kept on pluggin'.
